Recommended Weight Gain — Twin Pregnancy

Twin pregnancies generally require approximately 10 additional pounds of weight gain compared to singleton pregnancies across all BMI categories. The following ranges reflect current recommendations:

Recommended Total Weight Gain by Pre-Pregnancy BMI

  • Underweight (BMI < 18.5)  →  38 – 50 lbs
  • Normal Weight (BMI 18.5 – 24.9)  →  35 – 45 lbs
  • Overweight (BMI 25 – 29.9)  →  25 – 35 lbs
  • Obese (BMI ≥ 30)  →  21 – 30 lbs

We deliver at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital, located at 3625 University Blvd S, Jacksonville, FL 32216. This outstanding facility offers state-of-the-art labor and delivery suites, advanced neonatal care, compassionate nursing staff, and a family-centered birthing experience designed to make your delivery as safe and comfortable as possible. We are also pleased to offer quarterly Stork Tours for expectant mothers, a wonderful opportunity to familiarize yourself with the facility before your big day.
